Mission Statement
Hub City Humane Society is dedicated to providing compassionate care of homeless, neglected, abused and unwanted animals. We strive to maintain the highest quality of services to the community. We will engage the public and actively increase public awareness of animal welfare issues as well as work to prevent cruelty and promote kindness towards animals. Our organization collaborates with rescue and animal welfare organizations both locally and nationally and promises to maintain this high level of performance through continued training and education for management and staff.

BOARD PRESIDENT
BRENDA SUMRALL, DVM
Brenda Sumrall has been a veterinarian in Hattiesburg for two decades. She has owned 3 dogs, 7 cats, 10 horses, a donkey, and a goat. Brenda is married to Corey Sumrall. Corey and Brenda have 5 children.
BOARD VICE PRESIDENT
MARK HOLALND, DVM
Mark Holland has been a veterinarian in Hattiesburg for over 2 decades. He owns 2 veterinary clinics, one in Wiggins and one in South Hattiesburg.
TREASURER
MARY ANN SONGER
Mary Ann Songer is married to Nate Songer. She is Louisiana born and raised, but she relocated to Hattiesburg with her husband in 2007. They have 3 children between them and 3 fur babies. Riley is a 7-year-old Miki, Savannah is a 4-year-old Maltese rescue and Panda who is an 8 years old Shi Tzu. She has been involved with animal rescue most of her life beginning with assisting her mom with bottle-fed kittens since she was young.
SECRETARY
MICHELLE PARKER
Michelle started her love affair with animals over a decade ago when she became a veterinary technician while pursuing her Biology degree in Virginia. Her husband’s military career brought her to Hattiesburg in 2009, where she has continued to work as a vet tech and wildlife rehabilitator. She and her husband share their home with 4 dogs, 3 cats and a revolving door of fosters.

SALLY CRANE
Sally Crane is married to Daniel Crane and has four wonderful children; Samuel, Jonathan, Lillian and David. She also has four animal family members; Tobey(dog), Chewy (dog), Bucky (dog) and Gracie (cat). Sally has been involved in animal rescue in some aspects of her whole life. She has a special place in her heart for puppies and enjoys fostering them at her home.

MEGAN MARLOWE
Megan Marlowe is married and has two stepsons. She loves to foster animals and is involved in adoption events around the community. She has her Master’s Degree in Workforce Training and Development and is employed as an Instructor at The University of Southern Mississippi.
SHELTER MANAGER
HOLLY MITCHELL
Holly Mitchell has been in the involved helping animals since 2011 as a Veterinary Technician. She has four hub city dogs (Dot, Jaxx, Pearl, and Pip). Her dad was her biggest influence and pushed her to purse a career in animal rescue. Her loved and dedication for animals brought her into the field of Shelter Management.
